Adelaide City Council and the State Government of South Australia will be investing $1.5 million in the technological future of our city.
A proposed public access Wi-Fi network covering prodominently the Northern side of the CBD will provide ultra fast broadband access in public areas such as Light Square, Hidmarsh Square, Rundle Mall, along the Torrens aswell as at the many festivals Adelaide hosts.
Local IT companies are being approached to offer their services in the setup and maintenance of the network that is said to be launching by the end of 2013.
The Chief Executive of Business SA said in an interview that the free access would give local businesses in Adelaide a competative advantage.
